2nd Street’s appeal goes beyond second-hand fashion deals with sustainability being a core value of the brand. In the United States, over 15 million tons of clothing end up in landfills every year. 2nd Street encourages customers to make a fashion statement that is also environmentally conscious.

As part of the brand’s Hand2Hand project, the company ensures to reuse of all clothing that arrives in their stores. According to its website, items that don’t sell are donated to a partner company that recycles the clothing to clean up oil spills in factories. Additionally, other items are resold to create job opportunities and provide clothing to those in need. This dual approach, which combines fashion with environmental responsibility, has earned 2nd Street USA a dedicated following of eco-conscious shoppers.

Fast forward to 2023, and 2nd Street USA now boasts over 10 locations in California, making it a popular destination for fashion-savvy shoppers. The brand has also expanded its footprint to various locations spread across New York. Already having established a presence in various Manhattan neighborhoods and in Montclair, and Westfield, New Jersey, the brand is on an expansion trajectory, with plans to open other locations around the United States.
