“These seizures have impacted the finances of transnational crime organizations, preventing them from receiving 8.4 billion dollars. We also managed to prevent the potential production of 29 tons of cocaine by destroying 475 laboratories.”

The six-week operation led by the international Orion naval campaign involved 10 international organizations and 127 institutions from 62 countries.

A total of 1,408 tons of narcotic substances were seized, including 225 tons of cocaine, more than 128 tons of marijuana seized and 1,044 tons interrupted in cultivation areas between Brazil and Paraguay, as well as 4.9 tons of hashish and 198 kilograms of methamphetamines.

The operations took place in the oceans, coasts, seas, rivers, insular areas and port facilities of the five continents, according to the report shared by Colombian authorities.
