Washington, DC drives to second place in worst US cities for traffic, study says

Buckle up, D.C. drivers — the nation’s capital has placed second in the ranking of worst U.S. cities for traffic woes.

In a recent study by the TomTom Traffic Index, Washington, D.C. clocked an average travel time of 21 minutes and 20 seconds for a mere six miles of driving.

Baltimore, Maryland, secured the sixth spot on the list, with an average travel time of 17 minutes and 40 seconds for a similar six-mile stretch.

Officials said the study evaluated cities based on average travel time, fuel costs, and CO2 emissions, offering insights into the commuting nightmares faced by residents.
