28/02/23 – Tuesday Horse Racing Tips

Date:

We have expert betting tips for the cards this Tuesday at Bendigo and Gosford.

There is plenty of value available with bookmakers at the Tuesday meetings and we have our best bets across the two cards.

Bendigo

Race 1. (13:30) National Hotel Maiden (1100m)

#1 – Heuristic @ $2.35

Heuristic has shown good ability in two race day starts, including running third on debut Caulfield.

The James Cummings-trained colt ran third behind King’s Gambit, so the form checks out and this is a massive drop in class.

Most of the early money has come for him and that’s not surprising.

Race 2. (14:00) Club Barham Maiden (1100m)

#4 – Miss Subtly @ $2.15

Punters are getting sick of Miss Subtly finishing second, so we’re backing her to break her maiden status.

The three-year-old filly owns four second placings from four starts and her form has come behind some nice maiden types.

She won’t get a better chance to win and the $2.15 could firm to around $1.90 on race day.

Race 5. (15:30) Golden Square Hotel Handicap (2400m)

#10 – Handful @ $14

Handful is only a two-time winner from 21 starts but we’re happy to take the value odds against this field.

The five-year-old son of Dundeel hasn’t been racing too poorly lately, including a second placing at Mornington two back.

A repeat of that effort sees him going close at generous odds.

Race 6. (16:00) Ross Caldwell Plumbing BM64 (1000m)

#7 – River Ribble @ $3

River Ribble ran sixth at Flemington last start and that form checks out well for a Tuesday race at Bendigo.

The Freedman-trained gelding owns a win and four placings from seven starts, so he’s always around the mark and this field isn’t hard.

Punters should take the $3 before it firms on race day.

Gosford

Race 1. (13:50) Envu Tetrino Maiden (1200m)

#2 – Cappelletti @ $2.90

Cappelletti hasn’t shown too much on race day but he comes off a trial win at Rosehill and that should take him close.

The three-year-old son of Capitalist won the trial by 5.3 lengths, so it shows his potential, and this field isn’t much in terms of quality.

Tim Clark rides and he should press forward from the draw.

Race 2. (14:25) Adama Australia C1 Handicap (1200m)

#8 – Smooth Sailing @ $3.10

It was all Smooth Sailing on debut for the three-year-old filly, who won by 1.5 lengths at Nowra.

The daughter of Your Song had good betting support on that occasion and we expect plenty of money to come for her again.

Barrier three is ideal and take the $3.10 before it firms.

Race 5. (16:20) Thoroughbred Country Turf BM64 (1100m)

#2 – Oxford Vision @ $4.80

Value is with Oxford Vision, who won well at Gosford two back before placing at Hawkesbury last time out.

The four-year-old son of Panzer Division loves racing on the track with five wins for one win and three placings.

He gets all favours off an inside draw and the odds are too good to pass up.

Race 6. (16:55) Turfcare Floratine BM64 (1600m)

#1 – Stonecoat @ $2.90

Stonecoat has the class to beat this field after posting a win and three placings so far throughout his career.

The Waterhouse/Bott-trained gelding comes off a third placing at Hawkesbury and he likes to push forward and set up the pace.

We think he’ll be too good for this field, so put him on top.
