Chinatown DC: Man On Roof Of Building Throws Bricks At MPD Officers In Washington | VIDEO

The incident took place in Chinatown DC on Wednesday.

A man climbed the top of a building in Chinatown, Washinton DC on Wednesday. Following this, he started hurling bricks at the MPD Officers. It was not exactly clear as to what led to the unidentified suspect taking the law into his own hands. The streets in the nearby areas were reportedly shut after the police officials present on the scene convinced him to come down.

The video of the incident went viral online. The suspect who climbed on the top of a building near 7th and H Street North West was handcuffed, as seen in the footage. He allegedly stole an MPD officer’s bicycle during what was described in the local media as a mental episode. After abandoning the bicycle, the suspect climbed on the roof with officers trying to talk him down.

The DC Police officials said that the man went on the loose after they approached and attempted to stop him for an investigation. Following the altercation, the cops sealed the following roads and the traffic was diverted earlier today.

1) 500 – 700 Blocks of H Street Northwest between 5th and 7th Street Northwest

2) 800 Block 6th Street Northwest between I and H Street Northwest

No one was hurt in the incident till the time this report was published.
