India Shines at WorldSkills Lyon 2024: ASDC Celebrates Success in Industry 4.0, Automobile Technology, Car Painting, and Additive Manufacturing

At the 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, which concluded last night, India’s representatives from the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) highlighted the nation’s advancing expertise in Industry 4.0, Automobile Technology, Car Painting, and Additive Manufacturing. The team earned a Bronze medal and four Medallions of Excellence, marking India’s growing strength and skill on the global stage.

A significant highlight of this year’s competition was the Bronze medal secured by Dhrumilkumar Dhirendrakumar Gandhi and Sathyajith Balakrishnan in the highly competitive Industry 4.0 category. Their exceptional skill and determination represent the next wave of technological innovation, making India proud in its first WorldSkills foray into Industry 4.0.

Mr. F R Singhvi, President of ASDC, expressed his delight at the nation’s remarkable performance at the global event. “This achievement is a testament to the talent and hard work of our youth and the power of collaboration between industry and skill development initiatives. Winning a Bronze medal and earning Medallions of Excellence at WorldSkills Lyon 2024 underlines India’s growing capability in advanced manufacturing, automotive technology, and craftsmanship. ASDC remains committed to nurturing more young talents like Dhrumilkumar, Sathyajith, Praful, Vikash, and Prem, who are the future of India’s automotive sector,” he said.

India’s achievements didn’t stop there. Praful Ankush Pendhari brought home a Medallion for Excellence in Automobile Technology, a category requiring high-level technical proficiency and hands-on expertise. Vikash earned a Medallion for Excellence in Car Painting, demonstrating his precision and dedication in this critical automotive skill. Additionally, Prem Vasanth Kumar received a Medallion for Excellence in Additive Manufacturing, showcasing India’s capabilities in this emerging field. These accomplishments highlight India’s growing prominence in the global automotive industry and serve as an inspiration for aspiring engineers and skilled professionals across the country.

Sathyajith, on behalf of all the candidates, stated, “Bringing home a Bronze medal and multiple Medallions of Excellence from the WorldSkills Competition is a moment of immense pride for us and our nation. The journey was demanding, with rigorous training that often stretched into the early hours of the morning, but the dedication and hard work have paid off. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the steadfast support of ASDC, NSDC, and our incredible mentor, Mr. Disham, whose guidance kept us motivated throughout. Competing on the global stage has elevated our expertise in Industry 4.0, Automobile Technology, Car Painting, and Additive Manufacturing.
