Punchestown racing tips
2.15: Brandy Love 5/6
This is the Quevega Mares Hurdle, a Grade 3, contested over an extended 2m4f with Mares’ Hurdle contender Brandy Love as the odds-on favourite for trainer Willie Mullins.
Queens Brook who is currently 16/1 for that Cheltenham Festival race is also going for this preparation race but is just 5/2 here.
Those two look to make it a match at the front with the rest of the field 12s minimum.
Queens Brook is given a chance though, rated just 2lb lower, but given 9lb to Brandy Love.
But the Mullins-trained horse should still get there and has been waited with since April 2022 after winning by eight lengths to Love Envoi.
But could be worth following the money on this one with the two leaders.
Doncaster racing tips
1.50: Barton Knoll 3/1 & Fakir 10/1 each-way single
Most of these are risky punts and the betting reflects that currently with no real clear favourite and one decent each-way price at 10/1 going to Fakir.
Now he is also risky having only won once over fences before but has come up against some tough opposition in the past.
Including Solo at Sandown in November, of which he wasn’t disgraced in behind on his first run out since a wind surgery.
Fakir won at Fontwell in September, a Class 2 chase, and is already down 10lb since then having finished far back in three chases, pulled up in another and then 22 lengths behind Shighness.
But on a much reduced mark against some of these could be worth the risk.
However, a safer bet can go go Barton Knoll, a gelding by Midnight Legend and only finished fifth by just over eight lengths last time out over course and distance to Mackenberg.
2.25: Paricolor 9/2
Weakened out of contention on his latest run but should go better on Wednesday back on good ground and also down a huge 6lb as a result of that Warwick run in January.
Gives him plenty of chance today having placed third and second this season in and around 3m in Class 3 and 4 contests.
Hasn’t won over hurdles since December 2021 when rated 122 and returns to this mark.
The main dangers will come from Midnight Reflection and Kansas City Chief, who is still going strong at the age of 14.
3.35: Love Is Golden 8/11
Decent flat runner for Charlie & Mark Johnston and won his hurdle debut for Gary Moore by six lengths.
Suggests there’s more to come from this horse now jumping and should win this well if keeping up the improvements.
Ludlow racing tips
3.45: Signeur Des As 5/2
Missed out by a nose last time at Lingfield in a Class 3 novice chase and stands a great chance of improving today.
Especially with it being his second run since having a wind op at the start of the year.
On his second last run he was beaten by Love Actually who has since gone on to win again and he should shorten in price towards the off.
